Master level commentary of games in progress will be operated throughout the Championships. The MCC are currently assembling a team of commentators and have already secured the services of two ex-Australian Champions, three IM’s in total:

IM Guy West

IM Leonid Sandler

There is the chance that some of these great players might compete in the Championship in which case they won’t be commentating. We will have a full list of commentators in advance of the Championship, including a schedule for who will be commentating on each day.

Listening to the thought processes and analytical skills of top players is a great way to develop one’s understanding of the game, so for those not playing, and those fast finishers, this will be a highlight of the tournament.
